Caregiver

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and private homes. Duties

• Assist with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, including those with Alzheimer's or dementia
• Administer medication following prescribed instructions and document accordingly
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
• Support with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
• Assist with mobility and transfers using proper techniques to ensure safety
• Accompany clients on outings or appointments, requiring driving skills if necessary
• Manage behaviour management strategies for clients with behavioural challenges
• Support clients with hospice or palliative care needs with sensitivity and respect
• Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when required

Skills

• Experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is highly desirable
• Knowledge of patient care, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and senior care practices
• Ability to administer medication accurately and safely
• Strong caregiving skills with a focus on compassion and patience
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for client transfers or mobility assistance
• Competence in meal preparation tailored to specific dietary needs
• First aid certification and knowledge of emergency procedures
• Valid driving licence for client outings or appointments
• Experience in childcare or hospice care is a plus but not essential

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
