Responsibilities
- Provide personalised patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
- Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as required, ensuring safety at all times
- Manage behaviour and provide emotional support, especially for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties
- Drive clients to appointments or outings when necessary, adhering to all safety regulations
- Monitor health conditions and report any changes or concerns promptly to healthcare professionals
- Support families by offering respite care and guidance on daily routines
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, including dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care
- Valid first aid certification and CPR training are advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record is desirable for driving responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate demeanour
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; some positions may require weekend or evening availability but primarily focus on daytime hours
