Schedule is Mon-Fri 2:15 PM - 10:45 PM
Most employees start between $25.78-$28.14/hour. The higher end of the range, $30.50/hour, is reserved for candidates with exceptional experience or qualifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in Seaport Steel's safety program.
- Accurate interpretation of information provided by the customer.
- Filling customer orders accurately. This entails ensuring the correct material is used, the correct quantity is supplied, and the dimensions that pertain to the brake are within tolerance.
- Maintain the records of completed orders.
- Operate a press brake machine following the project details and blueprints.
- Must also be able to set up the machine for bending sheet metal.
- Programming experience is preferred. Candidates without full programming experience must be able to make minor program adjustments.
- Observe machine operation to verify the accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
- Inspect the "first part", consult with quality assurance, and inspect workpieces throughout the production run for out-of-tolerance machining.
- Using precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and dial caliper; ensure quality products are produced according to project specifications.
- Comply with all applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
- Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required.
Perform deburr operations, panel gluing, and layup

- Education and Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school, 4 plus years related experience and./or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
