About the Role:
We are seeking a highly strategic and people-focused Resident District Manager to join and lead our dynamic and multifaceted team. This role oversees a diverse portfolio that includes residential dining, retail outlets, catering, and seasonal conference services.
The ideal candidate will be an innovative leader with a strong background in food service operations, financial management, and client partnership, passionate about elevating the student experience through culinary innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence. You will function as the central point of contact for one complex campus account with multiple locations and service lines. This leader oversees performance of unit management, including budget ownership, client relations, operational excellence, compliance, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead excellence in residential dining, retail operations, catering, and seasonal hospitality services.
- Serve as the central client liaison, aligning on vision, performance, and long-term strategy.
- Own budget development and drive financial performance through cost control and labor efficiency.
- Advance key initiatives in sustainability, DE&I, student engagement, and local sourcing.
- Cultivate a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across teams.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, fostering career growth and advancement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications: (MUST HAVE)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Food service leadership experience in higher education or hospitality.
- Proven ability managing large, complex operations with multiple service lines.
- Experience in unionized environments, managing both front- and back-of-house operations.
- 5 years of senior food service leadership experience in a higher education setting.
- Demonstrated track record of exceeding KPIs in financial, operational, and customer service performance.
- Experience driving student-focused initiatives and implementing cutting-edge dining innovations.
