Estimator IV
- Assist in data entry of equipment, material, takeoffs, subcontractor costs, etc.
- Conduct basic research on material and labor costs, updating databases as needed.
- Manage and update the company’s historical cost database for benchmarking and future estimates.
- Support senior estimators by reviewing standards and ensuring consistency in calculations.
- Support senior estimators by assisting in development of the Basis of Estimate.
- Gather and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotes to compare costs and ensure competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to source pricing for materials and equipment and review based on project needs and scope.
- Standalone development of the capital cost Basis of Estimate.
- Participate in estimate review meetings internally and externally.
- Understands AACE estimate classifications.
- Review and interpret engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates.
- Review and validate quantity take offs for materials and equipment from project specifications and drawings.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure alignment on scope and estimate classifications.
- Create and maintain a Basis of Estimate.
- Full understanding of capital cost indirect costs.
- Participate in risk analysis and contingency analysis.
- Lead the development of comprehensive cost estimates for large-scale EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) projects.
- Develop cost control strategies and risk mitigation approaches for high-value industrial projects.
- Lead estimate review meetings with all stakeholders.
- Provide expert-level analysis on market trends, labor rates, and material costs to support corporate decision-making.
- Expert level contingency analysis.
- Support financial analysis and have full understanding of associated operating cost estimates
- Provide input to technical reports as it relates to capital cost and financial analysis.
- Establish and maintain estimating best practices, guidelines, and templates for the organization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PER JOB LEVEL
- Estimator IV – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Estimator III – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience; two to four (2-4) years experience
- Estimator II – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience; four to six (4-6) years experience
- Estimator I - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience; six to ten (6-10) years experience
