Brief Description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for oversight of pipeline and facility engineering and consulting services for clients across the United States. Project Engineers work as part of a team on projects in energy transport including liquid and natural gas pipelines, pump stations, meter stations, gas processing and compressor stations. Each day this position will integrate the various engineering, scheduling, procurement, construction, and commissioning aspects of one or more projects.

Main responsibilities include leading others in creating pipeline and facility design deliverables. Projects range in size and complexity from small pipelines, utility regulator station upgrades to large pipeline and related facility projects. This position can influence the growth and success of our pipeline expertise.

Pipeline Project Engineer

  • Lead in the execution of engineering activities.
  • Manage multi-discipline project delivery and ensure compliance with overall project objectives.
  • Assemble and lead the technical delivery of the project team.
  • Allocate resources where appropriate to achieve the safety, time, cost, scope and quality objectives of the project.
  • Develop the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned project elements, monitor progress to maintain schedules and budgets; identify and document change scope.
  • Design pigging facilities and associated equipment, develop piping specifications, make material selections, coordinate alignment sheet generation, assess different options of horizontal drills, coordinate HDD plans and profiles, support permitting efforts, and have a working knowledge of corrosion control of pipelines.
  • Evaluate material and construction bids and lead development of Total Installed Cost estimates.
  • Assist in development of construction scope of work for pipelines and related facilities and provide technical support for construction earned value tracking of construction progress.
  • Manage the technical support of the project through construction.
  • Comply with applicable regulations and client guidelines for design, project documentation and records.
  • Experience with CFR DOT 192, CFR DOT 195, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4 and ASME B31.8.
  • Participate in business development activities.
  • Interact with discipline leads and/or discipline engineers to ensure compliance with project objectives.
  • Manage bid presentation and opening meetings.
  • Design, coordinate and communicate deliverables per Client and Company specifications.
  • Follow all company, client, safety and regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.
  • Pipeline facility design (metering and regulating stations, storage field upgrades, and compressor stations) including plans, ISOs, sections, and details and associated bill of materials.
  • Pipeline design including alignment sheets, crossing drawings, profiles, details and associated bill of materials.
  • Determine the required temporary work-space for HDDs, crossings, bores and pipeline construction. Determine permanent and temporary access easement to construct and maintain the pipeline.
  • Coordination to obtain survey, geotechnical investigations, permitting, land acquisition. Provide technical support for construction, survey, permitting and ROW acquisition.
  • Calculations for design, studies and reports.
  • Material and equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing.
  • Lead in preparation of proposals and scope development, including
    • Conceptual designs and execution plans
    • Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules
  • Lead coordination of design activities with other disciplines (Piping, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control, etc.)
  • Develop and improve processes, tools and/or factory acceptance testing.
  • Provide leadership, training and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members.
  • Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel.
  • Provide short-term field support during construction.
  • Support business development and marketing initiatives.
  • In a supervisory capacity, develop, coordinate and direct a number of small projects or one project of major scope and importance.
  • Uses and promotes the use of existing design data to standardize design efforts from one job to the next.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Pipeline Service Director.
Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PER JOB LEVEL

  • Pipeline Project Engineer – Bachelor’s Degree/Continuing Education; seven (7) years engineering experience, minimum four (4) years in Oil and Gas Projects

Summary

Compensation for this role is determined based on a variety of factors including each candidate’s relevant experience, industry background, education, and demonstrated skills. We strive to offer competitive and equitable pay that reflects the value each individual brings to our team. Final compensation will be discussed during the interview process and may vary within the posted range.

Salary : $90,000 - $158,000
