Application Support / Systems Engineer (Manufacturing IT / OT Systems)

Location: Georgetown, KY (Onsite)

Duration: 12-Month Contract (with possible extensions)

Pay Rate: $50–$60/hour

Schedule: Hybrid (4 days onsite / 1 day remote, flexibility based on project needs)

Position Summary

We are seeking a technically skilled Application Support / Systems Engineer to support mission-critical manufacturing applications and infrastructure across multiple production facilities. This role ensures high system availability, supports application upgrades, and maintains stability of manufacturing IT/OT systems used for vehicle electronics validation and quality assurance.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in application support, Windows Server environments, and manufacturing system integration, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across software, hardware, and network layers.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain mission-critical manufacturing applications across multiple production sites
• Ensure system uptime across server infrastructure and connected nodes
• Perform application testing, validation, and quarterly software upgrades
• Execute Windows Server patching, administration, and system health monitoring
• Troubleshoot application, server, and network issues during planned and unplanned events
• Support PC setup, imaging, formatting, and end-user system troubleshooting
• Maintain data flow, system traceability, and production system connectivity
• Support IT compliance activities including cybersecurity, access control, and system updates
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for issue resolution and system enhancements
• Support PLC and industrial network troubleshooting where applicable
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for system reliability and performance
• Work closely with global engineering, IT, and manufacturing stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (ABET preferred)
• 3 years of experience in application support, systems engineering, or software support roles
• Strong experience with Windows Server environments (2016 ) and Windows OS
• Working knowledge of SQL databases
• Understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and system architecture
• Experience supporting manufacturing or production systems
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability to support occasional weekend or off-hours activities as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PLC/data networks (ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, FLNET)
• Exposure to .NET technologies
• Experience in manufacturing IT/OT or automotive production environments
• Project coordination or light project management experience
• Experience working with global engineering and IT teams

Work Environment

• High-availability manufacturing IT/OT environment supporting production operations
• Cross-functional collaboration across engineering, IT, and manufacturing teams
• Occasional after-hours or weekend support during upgrades and deployments
• Exposure to large-scale enterprise manufacturing systems
