Roessel Joy is partnering with a well-established law firm in Boston to identify an experienced Client Billing Specialist to join their finance team. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a background in legal billing or professional services accounting. Responsibilities:
• Perform daily billing activities to support attorneys and clients.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant monthly invoice processing.
• Maintain and update matter listings and client billing information.
• Generate client invoices and related billing documentation.
• Assist attorneys and staff with billing inquiries.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding billing guidelines, e-billing setup, and billing-related issues.
• Process time, disbursement, and billing reports for attorneys, staff, and clients.
• Maintain proficiency in accounting and billing software, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel; participate in training on software upgrades.
• Generate proformas, edits, timecard summaries, update matter and timekeeper rates, and run client reports as requested by attorneys.
• Provide support and guidance to other billing staff once fully trained.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• 1–2 years of billing experience in a law firm, consulting, or professional services environment required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills, excellent follow-up, and high attention to detail.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong team player with a commitment to high-quality internal and external customer service.
• Reliable, consistent attendance and professionalism.
• Experience with legal billing software preferred.
• Experience with electronic billing and e-billing vendors required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
