Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Ashland, Virginia. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial operations and have a strong understanding of accounting principles, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role provides an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where precision and attention to detail are critical.

Responsibilities:
• Review and assess QuickBooks Online transactions to ensure proper allocation of labor costs and financial entries.
• Perform month-end closing procedures, including preparation and reconciliation of accounts.
• Maintain and update the general ledger by accurately recording journal entries.
• Conduct thorough account reconciliations to verify financial data and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between bank statements and internal records.
• Collaborate with relevant departments to address dual entry issues between accounting systems and corporate sales platforms.
• Generate financial reports and analyses to support decision-making processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies in all financial activities.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.

• 5 years of experience as a Sr. Accountant

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Proven experience in month-end close procedures and general ledger management.

• Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online and other accounting software.

• Expertise in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.

• Ability to conduct accurate bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
