Position Overview
The firm is seeking an Associate Attorney through Senior Attorney (open to candidates with 1 year of experience up to 20 years) to join its Richmond, VA office. The team is open to attorneys coming from personal injury, prosecutor’s offices, or trial-heavy backgrounds, including those looking to transition into civil litigation.
This role offers flexibility, strong mentorship, and the opportunity to grow within a well-structured personal injury practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a plaintiff-side personal injury caseload, including pre-litigation and/or litigation matters
- Handle case strategy, discovery, depositions, motions, hearings, and trials as applicable
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance carriers
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff
- Maintain strong organization and case progression in line with firm standards
Experience & Qualifications
- Licensed attorney in Virginia (or ability to become licensed)
- Open to experience levels ranging from 1 year to 20 years
- Backgrounds considered include:
- Personal injury (pre-litigation and/or litigation)
- Prosecutor or government litigation
- Trial attorney experience highly valued
- Strong work ethic, coachability, and alignment with firm culture
- Desire to grow long-term within a team-oriented firm
Caseload
- Average target caseload: 100–125 cases
- Firm is willing to provide up to 3 months of training, depending on experience level
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $85,000 – $120,000 (DOE)
- Attorney fee/bonus structure: DOE
- Compensation structure is flexible and aligned with experience and performance
Schedule & Work Arrangement
- In-office required for the first 90 days
- After 90 days: 1 remote day per week
- Flexibility available for the right candidate
