Job Duties
The attorney in this position will provide both advice and litigation services to the Virginia Department of Health – in particular to VDH’s Office of Environmental Health Services and Office of Drinking Water; to the Department of Mines, Minerals, and Energy with respect to its energy programs; review of environmental-related legislation, regulations and policies; respond to subpoena and FOIA requests; review legal issues related to inquiries from constituents and the General Assembly; draft official opinions for the Attorney General.

Minimum Qualifications
- Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, including first and second chair trial work in both state and federal courts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills, technical drafting skills and the ability to analyze and manage complex cases.
- All candidates must be admitted to the Virginia State Bar.
