What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Robert Half?
Our client on the Mississippi Gulf Coast is expanding their team by hiring a Senior Accountant to help manage the accounting clerks and support the CFO. Our client is ready to interview candidates with a 4-year accounting degree and 3 years of full cycle accounting, substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, and customer billing. While the role allows for a few days of work from home per week after a training period, the client requires they live within an easy commute range to their Pass Christian location.
Responsibilities
- Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and help manage the A/P, A/R and Payroll clerks
- Work closely with team members to assist with the month-end close
- Assist with the annual audit process including the draft of the financial statements and related notes
- Research and analyze expense variances for company management
Qualifications
- 3 years of professional accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting very strongly preferred
- Full cycle accounting experience and strong Excel skills
