We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This is a permanent position, offering the opportunity to play a critical role in our financial management, specifically in cost accounting. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of cost accounting principles, practices, and procedures, and a proven track record of managing raw materials, WIP, and BOMs. This role will be integral in providing financial reporting, variance analysis, and budgeting support to our organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage and analyze cost accounting data, ensuring that costs are allocated according to established procedures.
• Review BOMs and standard costs for accuracy and make necessary adjustments.
• Conduct regular variance analysis to identify discrepancies and ensure that all costs are accounted for accurately.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports, providing detailed insights into our company's financial status.
• Oversee the general ledger, ensuring that all entries are accurate and up-to-date.
• Handle project management responsibilities, coordinating with various departments to ensure that all financial aspects of projects are handled efficiently.
• Perform account reconciliation, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
• Assist in the budgeting process, providing detailed cost projections and assisting in the development of the company's financial plan.
• Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and complete.
• Work closely with the financial management team to develop strategies for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Extensive knowledge of cost accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with raw materials, WIP, and BOMs.
• Strong skills in financial reporting and variance analysis.
• Proficiency in general ledger management and account reconciliation.
• Experience in project management and budgeting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
