Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in York, Pennsylvania. This is a long-term contract position where you will contribute to the smooth operation of our accounting processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and demonstrate strong critical thinking, organizational skills, and a solid work ethic.

Responsibilities:
• Review and route incoming invoices to appropriate personnel for approval using company systems.
• Address inquiries from vendors and employees regarding payment statuses and discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records and organization for invoices, purchasing card transactions, and fuel card activities.
• Ensure invoices are legitimate, correctly coded, and approved before processing payments.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents to verify accuracy.
• Process weekly check runs, including printing and distributing payments as needed.
• Prepare and distribute A/P reports, invoice registers, and manual checks when required.
• Reconcile monthly vendor statements and assist with sales and use tax analysis.
• Scan Accounts Payable documents accurately and promptly following company guidelines.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the Accounts Payable function and implement approved changes.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
• Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Business is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Critical thinking skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Familiarity with accounts payable systems such as OnBase, Vista by Viewpoint, or similar tools is beneficial.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
