Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager in Alabaster, Alabama. This Contract-to-permanent role offers an excellent opportunity to oversee essential accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial records for a large manufacturer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all entries are correctly recorded.

• Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.

• Conduct account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data.

• Manage bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between financial records and bank statements.

• Collaborate with internal teams to optimize accounting processes and workflows.

• Analyze financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

• Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues in financial records.

• Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation to support external reviews.

• Proven experience in accounting roles, including general ledger and month-end close.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
