Our client is a leading company with a strong presence in Birmingham and a reputation for attracting and developing top accounting talent. Due to continued growth and recent acquisitions, the company is adding a newly created manager role to its finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a manager-level public accountant who enjoys owning processes, leading initiatives, and solving complex accounting matters in a fast-growing, highly visible environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Own and manage all aspects of the accounting cycle, including processes, controls, and reporting
- Lead projects, particularly those tied to acquisitions, system changes, and process improvements
- Perform technical accounting research and analysis on various concepts and strategies
- Evaluate, build, and improve accounting processes as the business continues to scale
- Partner cross-functionally with teams such as operations, FP&A, legal, and systems
- Take initiative to “figure things out” in a dynamic environment with evolving business needs
- Work independently on key areas while also collaborating closely with the broader accounting and finance teams
- Receive training and support while gaining exposure across multiple areas of the organization
What We’re Looking For:
- Manager-level experience in public accounting (Big 4 or national/regional firm preferred)
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting and technical accounting concepts
- Experience leading projects and managing processes in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable operating with a high level of ownership and accountability
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments
- CPA preferred
