Recruiting Solutions is seeking a Sales Manager for a family-owned logistics and freight company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. This is a direct-hire position with competitive pay and benefits. This position is HYBRID and Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm and offers a flexible schedule. Apply today!


The Sales Manager will report directly to the COO and will be responsible for promoting and selling our client’s International Freight Forwarding and Logistics services, while actively managing both new and existing customer relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ocean freight, airfreight, and operational logistics on both a domestic and international basis.

Key Responsibilities of the Sales Manager:

  • Identify and pursue potential clients through proactive prospecting and lead qualification.
  • Develop and manage new and existing accounts to ensure continued revenue growth and profitability.
  • Meet and exceed assigned sales targets through dedicated performance.
  • Design and implement tailored strategies to address customer needs and achieve satisfaction.
  • Propose effective logistics solutions based on client requirements.
  • Coordinate customer needs with appropriate logistical services and solutions.
  • Foster and maintain strong customer relationships to effectively resolve any issues.
  • Respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare for and attend client meetings, ensuring a focus on customer satisfaction and relationship-building.
  • Handle incoming sales inquiries and respond in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Qualifications & Skills of the Sales Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in sales within the logistics services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the freight forwarding industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent business development and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.
