RealREPP, a full-service recruiting firm, is currently teaming with a growing, stable, and nationally recognized building systems expert to assist them in hiring a Lead Payroll Accountant. This Payroll Accountant will assist the Payroll Manager and team with the responsibility of all aspects of payroll operations and administration, and with paying our employees timely and accurately, along with ensuring compliance with Federal and State/Local tax regulatory requirements and all Collective Bargaining agreements.
This role requires experience with end-to-end payroll processing, and will assist with all processes, systems, and ensuring accuracy and integrity of accounting and internal controls. Also financial recordkeeping which includes the recording of financial transactions as needed, managing accounts and account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Additionally, this role will also support payroll system maintenance as needed.

Responsibilities
- Mentor and support junior payroll staff; assist with task delegation to maintain efficient workflow.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of payroll training programs.
- Maintain and update payroll system tables, employee records, and related configurations.
- Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of payroll software, including testing and table updates.
- Partner with IT and HR to troubleshoot and resolve payroll system issues.
- Strong knowledge of payroll practices, tax regulations, and wage and hour laws.
- 5 years of full-cycle, multi-state payroll experience, including work with large payrolls.
- Experience with Union/CBA payrolls; prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting is a plus.
- Proficiency with payroll systems such as COINS, ADP, Dayforce, UKG, or similar platforms; COINS experience is a plus.
- Advanced skills in Excel and proficiency with other MS Office applications.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with audits and a basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience preferred.
- FPC or CPP certification a plus.
- Ability to travel to other Texas payroll team locations as needed.

Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
