Summary:
Reporting to the QA&PI Director as well as the Chief of HR, the Staff Educator directs and coordinates the development and maintenance of all medical records files for Ravenwood Health, assisting all clinicians and physicians in keeping accurate, complete and confidential files for all clients in accordance with various governmental regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train new hires on the basics of the electronic health record system (EHR), CareLogic including accessing systems, navigation, and day-to-day functioning
- Provide role specific training on the EHR as well as supporting staff with best practices in concurrent notetaking
- Train staff on documentation requirements that align with Joint Commission, Medicaid, and insurance standards
- Train staff on the billing functions within the EHR system
- Record trainings on the EHR to support virtual learning.
- Train staff on ethics and HIPPA considerations with the EHR
- Maintain and update training materials
- Update training records for staff
- Coordinate and attend trainings relating to EHR and performance improvement.
- Evaluate staff education program- to include competencies and continue education offerings.
- Teach CPR courses
- Organizes new employee orientation and other staff trainings.
- Monitors staff compliance with regulatory education requirements
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work independently.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Social work or Counseling required.
- Background with Electronic Health Records Systems, CareLogic specifically
- Strong knowledge of billing rules and regulations
- 2-3 years of experience with documentation compliance and concurrent notetaking
- Strong communication skills and passion for education
- Must have a valid Ohio Driver License
- Must be able to pass a BCI/FBI background check
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master's degree preferred.
- Ohio Licensure LSW/LISW, LPC/LPCC preferred.
