JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Billing and Payment Specialist directs and coordinates the billing for Care Management services at Ravenwood Health.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter new members into the Electronic Health Record System for our Care Management Services
- Assist with billing for our Care Management Services
- Communicate with staff regarding member enrollment changes
- Accurately and correctly post payments from Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial Payers
- Track payments that are posted and ensure that deposits are balanced
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
This will vary depending on the role within the billing team:
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work both independently as well as part of a team.
- Must have strong computer skills and the ability to learn the ECR.
- Must be flexible and willing to learn a variety of different tasks.
- Some knowledge of CPT codes, HCPCS codes, and diagnosis coding is helpful; however, not necessary required.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Background knowledge or experience with insurance rules is helpful.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Basic math skills are necessary: ability to add, subtract, average, and compute percentages.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma
- Some experience with Medical billing is helpful
- Experience with Electronic Health Record System
- Understanding of medical billing rules and processes
- Strong understanding of Ohio Medicaid
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Education and Experience
Some background in ICD-10, CPT codes; HCPCS codes; and insurance rules is preferred, but not required.

Physical Demands
Position requires the ability to bend and reach for the purposes of filing. Requires the ability to lift the equivalence of a copy paper box.
Travel and Schedule Expectations
Monday through Friday-day shift with some flexibility in scheduled hours. Limited travel between office locations. Occasional travel to local trainings during business hours.

Level III-Minimal.
