Job Title: Tooling Engineering Manager

Salary Range: $90,000 to 110,000/Year
We're looking for an experienced Tooling Engineering Manager to lead our tooling engineering, layout, and pattern shop operations. This critical role ensures the successful design, manufacture, and verification of tooling that meets both internal production needs and strict customer dimensional requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Tooling Management: Lead the tooling engineering team, setting clear expectations for tooling quotes, design specifications, and successful build completion.
- Dimensional Quality: Direct the layout shop to ensure rigorous dimensional verification of all new and revised tooling and castings, and manage the process for necessary corrections.
- Customer & Engineering Liaison: Collaborate directly with customers and internal engineering to review designs, resolve complex dimensional challenges, and ensure all tooling meets required casting specifications.
- Production Support: Partner with production personnel to deliver robust and efficient tooling that integrates seamlessly with plant operations and maximizes casting yield and quality.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement within the tooling and pattern shop, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related technical field; OR
- Three (3) or more years of directly related experience and/or training in a foundry setting; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills
- Advanced knowledge of the intricate relationship between Vertical Molding Machine (VMM) tooling, core tooling, mold assemblies, and core fit/setting in the mold cavity.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Demonstrated experience working within a Pattern Shop and Layout/Dimensional Verification setting.
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and GD&T specifications.
- Familiarity with casting simulation software like Magmasoft is highly desirable.
