Salary Range: $130,000 to 150,000/Year
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Product Development Manager to lead research, development, and innovation efforts for new and existing products. This role is responsible for managing cross-functional projects, driving product improvement, and supporting cost-reduction initiatives while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product development projects from concept through commercialization.
- Manage R&D programs to improve existing products, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Identify new product opportunities based on market and customer needs.
- Recommend material and process changes to optimize performance and cost.
- Oversee technology transfer and scale-up from development to manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and supply chain.
- Partner with customers to resolve product issues and discuss new opportunities.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and leverage new packaging or material innovations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and food safety requirements (including GMPs).
- Guide and mentor team members on technical and project management aspects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 10 years of experience in product development within flexible packaging or a related industry.
- Deep knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control in packaging manufacturing.
- Proven experience managing multiple development projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ISO system experience is a plus.
- Ability to travel occasionally to customer or supplier sites.
