About the Role
Amrize is seeking a Terminal Operator to safely operate equipment at our Charlotte Terminal for loading and unloading rail cars, trucks, and boats. You will ensure accurate order fulfillment while maintaining efficiency and safety. This role is hands-on, requiring mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain mobile equipment used for loading/unloading materials
- Execute loading/unloading tasks for bulk and bagged materials via rail, road, or water transport
- Maintain terminal grounds, offices, warehouse, and yard areas
- Communicate effectively with Terminal Managers, customers, sales personnel, trucking firms, and suppliers
- Assist with general mechanical maintenance and repairs as needed
- Adhere to all company safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures
- Promote a culture of safety by modeling safe behaviors and practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: 1–3 years in operations, logistics, or related field
Technical Skills: Basic computer knowledge; familiarity with Microsoft Office and SAP preferred
Additional Requirements:
- High mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Physical ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and perform unloading functions
- Ability to complete paperwork accurately
- Welding or mechanical experience is a plus
- Knowledge of cement, construction, or integrated computer systems is an asset
- Compliance with all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved PPE, including respirators (employees must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face for fit testing)
