Travel MSW (Medical Social Worker) – Mission Viejo, CA | Up to $62/hr ($2,480/Week) | 13-Week Contract

Schedule: Day Shift | 5x8-Hour Shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)

Join a leading acute care hospital in Mission Viejo, CA, as a Travel Medical Social Worker (MSW). This is an excellent opportunity for experienced hospital social workers looking for a rewarding assignment with competitive pay.

Position Overview

As a Medical Social Worker, you'll collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, patients, and families to coordinate care, assess psychosocial needs, and support safe discharge planning. You'll play a key role in helping patients access community resources and navigate complex healthcare situations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments
• Develop and coordinate discharge plans
• Provide emotional support, counseling, and patient advocacy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Connect patients and families with community resources
• Assist with crisis intervention and care coordination
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Manage a caseload of approximately 20–23 patients

Requirements

• Master of Social Work (MSW) required
• LCSW preferred
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Social Work experience
• At least 1 year of recent acute care hospital experience
• Hospital experience must be within the last 3 months
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Pending California license accepted if active before the start date

Assignment Details

• 13-week travel contract
• Day shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Variable 5-day workweek, including weekend coverage as needed
• Floating may be required to the Laguna facility
• Acute Care Hospital environment
• Immediate start available
