What You Will Do:
- Create a training framework for manufacturing departments based on written job descriptions and provide a framework guide to new hires based on contracted training time
- Work with Operations Managers/Supervisors to ensure on the job training packages are prepared properly and deployed for future hires
- Create a “train the trainer” course for each department and create established expectations for trainers to ensure training goes
- Create rotation plan to ensure we have fully staffed and skilled trainers on all requirements for new hires
- Establish and sustain continuous improvement cycle for the Operations skills development and training program.
- Ensure that historical records for all existing employees have the required on the job training either initiated or in completion
- Assist in reviewing and updating the job descriptions and mapping out skill requirements for training plans
- Evaluate and implement pre-and post- training testing if necessary
- Determine if internal testing is required for specific departments to ensure that the internal bidding process/transfers we are hiring qualified employees into the right departments immediately or if further training is needed
- Develop strong framework for training qualification sign off and document supervisor/trainer feedback
- Review available training in Workday, determine training to require, and ensure/document compliance beyond new-hire job shadowing
- Review skill matrices, update if necessary, and hold employees to requirements
- Ensure compliance with supervisor/new hire check ins and ensure proper feedback is being provided to employees
- Work with Human Resources/Employee-Labor Relations/Site Lead
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ training experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience training “on the job” in a shop floor manufacturing environment
- Experience with safety & PPE training
- Previous experience using SharePoint and SAP strongly preferred
- Experience with GD&T a plus
- Exposure to the aerospace industry is strongly preferred.
- Ability to develop and present business correspondences required
- Experience working in ambiguous situations, such as acting when all the information is not available
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment but can also be self-directed required
- Proficiency with MS Office required
Pay Range: $83K to $86K
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
Work Requirements:
This role is considered an on-site position located in Troy, OH
- You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
- Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Travel requirements: Due to the nature of the work, zero travel is required.
Citizenship requirement: Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.
