What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Support Personnel position at Provincetown Schools?
SCHOOL YEAR: 2026-2027
REPORTS TO: District Principal/Classroom Teacher and/or Special Education Teacher
JOB GOAL: To assist the teacher in delivering and managing instruction, supervision, and behavioral programs which support the established program, curriculum and/or individualized plan for education.
- Provides input in lesson and classroom planning.
- Delivers small group instruction in the classroom under the guidance and direction of the professional staff.
- Implements student assessments provided by the professional staff.
- Implements general and specific behavioral management programs and protocols as developed by the professional staff.
- Escorts students as necessary.
- Maintains accurate records of student progress, as directed by the professional staff.
- Communicates progress as well as general student information to professional staff.
- Provides assistance, as needed, to any substitute teacher assigned by administration in the absence of a regular teacher.
- Participates in professional development days.
- Maintains appropriate level of confidentiality of information.
Performs other duties related to his/her performance responsibilities, as assigned by the District Principal.
