General Description:
Provincetown IB Schools seeks a part-time, contracted services Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide services to students ages preschool through grade 8. The OT/COTA will provide services to students with fine motor visual motor / visual perception and sensory motor skills allowing them to access the Provincetown Schools curriculum and to participate in both school and community life to the greatest extent possible.
This position reports to the Director of Special Education.
Job Responsibilities:
Evaluation: The Occupational Therapist will assess students referred for evaluation using appropriate testing instruments. Occupational therapists will write reports that reflect the results of standardized tests and observations that contain information helpful and understandable to all involved parties and contain clear recommendations. Evaluations will be performed within timelines established within state and federal regulations.
Occupational therapy and consultative services will be provided to students based on their individual needs and compliance with each student's IEP. Services will be provided in the least restrictive setting. The Occupational Therapist will participate in all aspects of the special education process.
