Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) to join a dynamic, patient-focused team. This role offers exposure to a wide range of patient populations, including adult, pediatric, and NICU cases, in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory treatments and airway management across all units
- Manage ventilators (invasive & non-invasive) and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Conduct ABG punctures and analysis
- Administer inhaled medications (MDI, nebulizers)
- Respond to Code Blue situations
- Perform EKGs (up to 10 per shift)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient care
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience (REQUIRED)
- Traveler Experience: First-time travelers accepted
- Certifications:
- BLS, ACLS, PALS (Required)
- NRP (Preferred)
- RRT (Preferred) (CRT accepted)
- Skills:
- Ventilator and airway management
- ABG procedures
- Emergency response (codes)
- EKG proficiency
- Conditions include:
- COVID-19, COPD, ARDS
- Pneumonia, Influenza, RSV
- CHF, Lung Cancer
- Stroke, overdose, ETOH detox
- Trach and ventilated patients
- Exposure to pediatrics and NICU (NRP required to float to these units)
- Beds: 120
- ICU/Stepdown: Combined unit
- Vent Volume: 2-5 vents daily (ICU ED)
- Other Units:
- Cardiac unit (no open hearts)
- Med-Surg units
- Behavioral Health
- Busy ED with high pediatric population
- EMR: EPIC
- Ventilators:
- Hamilton C1 (invasive, non-invasive, high-flow)
- Servo-U (for vented patients)
- High Flow Systems: Airvo
- Staffing:
- Days: 3 RTs
- Nights: 2 RTs
- Charge RT available each shift
- RT Educator and onsite Manager (days)
- Collaborative, team-based care environment
- Required to float across all hospital units
- May float to NICU/Peds if NRP certified and comfortable
- 2-3 days up to 1 week, based on experience and comfort level
- Shifts:
- Days: 05:00 AM - 05:00 PM
- Nights: 05:00 PM - 05:00 AM
- Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend
- On-Call: None
- Holidays: 1 summer 1 winter
- RTO: Up to 7 days (approval allowed)
- Schedule Cycle: 8 weeks (posted 3 weeks in advance)
- Scrubs: Any professional color (cartoons & T-shirts allowed)
