Junior Associate Attorney

Summary

Our client, a Billings-based law firm, is seeking an entry-level Junior Associate Attorney to join their growing litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly licensed or early-career attorney looking to build a strong foundation in general practice litigation. This role is structured for hands-on training and exposure across a wide range of civil and criminal matters. The Associate Attorney will support a general practice litigation team handling civil and criminal matters. The role includes direct client interaction, courtroom exposure, legal research, drafting, and case strategy development. Practice areas may include family law, contracts, business disputes, employment matters, and torts.

Responsibilities

• Represent and advise clients in civil and criminal matters
• Conduct client consultations and case assessments
• Perform legal research and prepare case materials
• Attend hearings and court appearances as required
• Draft and review legal documents
• Develop case strategies and provide legal guidance
• Interview and advise prospective clients
• Travel to surrounding Montana courts as needed
  
  

Qualifications

• Active member in good standing of the Montana State Bar
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to interpret and apply legal principles effectively
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally as needed
