Job Summary:
As an Accounts Receivable Collector, you will be responsible for communicating with customers to collect outstanding invoices, resolving billing disputes, and ensuring timely payment of accounts receivable. You will work closely with customers, sales teams, and other internal stakeholders to resolve issues and collect payments. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as attention to detail and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contact customers via phone, email, and mail to collect outstanding invoices and resolve billing disputes
- Accurately process payments and update accounts receivable records in our accounting system
- Identify and resolve issues with customer payments, including disputed invoices and missed payments
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure timely payment and minimize bad debt
- Research and resolve any discrepancies in customer payments
- Provide regular updates to the Accounts Receivable Manager and other stakeholders on collection efforts and progress
- Collaborate with sales teams to resolve billing issues related to customer orders
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer communications and payment history
- Adhere to company policies and procedures related to collections and accounts receivable
- Meet or exceed collection targets and goals
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or a related field
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks or SAP
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive customer information
