Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact supporting students with a diverse range of needs in a dynamic educational and residential setting. This full-time, onsite opportunity runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, offering you a stable and consistent routine. Serving a dedicated school and residential program, you’ll work closely with students who exhibit challenging behaviors, including self-harm, property destruction, elopement, and aggression, helping them develop functional skills and independence while contributing to a compassionate team environment.
Ideal candidates bring the following background:
- Current licensure and credentials as an Occupational Therapist with school-based experience preferred
- Prior experience or strong interest in behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in the face of aggressive or adverse behaviors
- Commitment to professional collaboration with educators, therapists, and support teams
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and developing customized OT treatment plans for each student
- Providing direct therapy, regularly monitoring progress, and adapting strategies as needed
- Implementing support in classroom and residential settings to promote sensory regulation, life skills, and positive coping mechanisms
- Educating and coaching educational staff and family members on best practices to support students
- Maintaining clear and timely records in accordance with school and state guidelines
