Primary Services is actively recruiting for a Business Analyst to support a large and well-established client in the utility and energy sector. This is a great opportunity for an early-career professional to build expertise in business, finance, and project operations while supporting critical transmission initiatives. The Business Analyst will work closely with project leaders and business stakeholders to maintain project documentation, monitor budgets, coordinate vendor activities, track costs, and support business process improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain communication across project teams and business units.
- Maintain project records, business metrics, and documentation repositories.
- Review contracts, cost proposals, and contract supplements for accuracy and compliance.
- Support vendor communication and coordinate documentation requirements.
- Develop, document, and maintain business processes and workflow procedures.
- Create and maintain project and work breakdown structures (WBS).
- Track project budgets, expenditures, and cost performance against approved budgets.
- Monitor transaction controls and support expense reporting activities.
- Prepare reports related to project status, budgets, costs, and operational metrics.
- Assist with project coordination activities, schedules, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Analyze business data and identify trends related to project costs and operational performance.
- Support process improvement initiatives within transmission operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of professional experience in business analysis, project coordination, finance, accounting, operations, or a related area.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Experience supporting budgets, invoices, expenditures, or financial reporting.
- Knowledge of cost tracking, budget monitoring, and expense reporting processes.
- Familiarity with contract review and vendor documentation management.
- Experience maintaining project documentation and business process records.
- Understanding of project coordination principles and work breakdown structures (WBS).
- Ability to apply basic accounting and mathematical concepts in a business environment.
- Experience with enterprise applications or ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work onsite Monday through Thursday and remotely on Fridays.
- Must reside in the Houston area and be able to commute to the South Houston Complex.
Salary : $37 - $40
