An established organization in the renewable energy industry is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting of distributed solar and storage entities. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in partnership accounting, multi-entity reporting, financial close, and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for assigned partnership entities.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, intercompany transactions, and elimination entries.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate account variances.
- Support the preparation of GAAP and IFRS financial statements and reporting packages.
- Manage partnership accounting activities, including allocations, distributions, capital activity, and project-level accounting.
- Track project costs, capitalization, and operating results while partnering with Asset Management to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare partner reporting packages and investor deliverables.
- Develop audit schedules, support year-end audits, and respond to external auditor requests.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and support multi-entity consolidations.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes through automation, system enhancements, and data validation.
- Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and Asset Management to support cash forecasting and project-level financial analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Actively pursuing a CPA or Chartered Accountant (CA/ACCA) qualification.
- Three to six years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong foundation in general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting external audits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP or a similar ERP system.
- Experience working in multi-entity environments with intercompany accounting and consolidations.
- Knowledge of IFRS and/or U.S. GAAP.
- Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or other project-based industries.
- Exposure to partnership accounting or complex legal entity structures is preferred.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
