- Setting up and operating woodworking machines such as timber sizer, resaws, cut off saws, band saws, rip saws, table saws, and drill presses.
- Setting up procedures and methods to solve work problems.
- Equipment surveying and dry dock set up procedures.
- Ability to know lumber grades and specifications.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, and work orders.
