Civil Structural Engineer (CA PE Licensed)
Our client is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer with an active California PE license (required) to support the design and execution of commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects, with a focus on light gauge steel systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze cold-formed (light gauge) steel structures in accordance with CBC, AISI, and ASCE standards
- Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and permit-ready documentation
- Serve as Engineer of Record (stamping and signing required)
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and internal teams across project phases
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support construction activities
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality control
Requirements
- Active California PE License (required)
- 5 years of structural engineering experience (light gauge steel preferred)
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, ETABS, SAP2000, AutoCAD)
- Strong knowledge of seismic design and California codes
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Experience with design-build or prefabricated systems
- Familiarity with DSA or OSHPD requirements
- SE license (a plus, not required)
