Position Summary

Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Spartanburg Downtown is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to help lead our housekeeping team and maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests.

The successful candidate will oversee daily housekeeping assignments, inspect guest rooms and public areas, support team training, and coordinate with other departments to ensure rooms are ready for arriving guests. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organization, clear communication, and pride in delivering consistent quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily housekeeping assignments based on occupancy, room priorities, and staffing needs.
• Inspect guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas for cleanliness, presentation, and compliance with hotel and applicable Marriott brand standards.
• Identify cleaning deficiencies, communicate expectations clearly, and confirm that corrections are completed.
• Train and coach housekeeping team members on cleaning procedures, room preparation, safe work practices, and guest service.
• Monitor room readiness and communicate accurate updates to the front desk.
• Report maintenance concerns and coordinate follow-up with the maintenance team.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and housekeeping concerns.
• Monitor linen, amenity, and cleaning supply levels and communicate replenishment needs.
• Maintain clean, organized housekeeping carts, storage areas, and linen closets.
• Support room cleaning, public-area cleaning, and laundry operations as needed.
• Follow procedures for lost and found, room keys, guest belongings, and guest privacy.
• Ensure cleaning products and equipment are used and stored safely.
• Communicate staffing, attendance, and performance concerns to management.
• Follow hotel policies, safety procedures, security protocols, and applicable brand standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous hotel housekeeping experience preferred.
• Supervisory, training, or team leadership experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize and correct cleanliness concerns.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, housekeeping equipment, and safe chemical handling.
• Clear communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize assignments and adjust to changing room and staffing needs.
• Ability to lead by example, give constructive feedback, and support a team.
• Professional, dependable, and guest-focused attitude.
• Willingness to assist with cleaning and other housekeeping duties when needed.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as required.

Compensation & Employment Details

Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay Frequency: Weekly Paychecks
Location: Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Spartanburg Downtown
Schedule: Weekend and holiday availability required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the scheduled shift.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds as needed.
• Ability to push and pull housekeeping carts and operate cleaning equipment.
• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and room-inspection tasks.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning products and follow product instructions.
• Ability to move throughout guest rooms, public areas, laundry areas, and storage spaces.
• Ability to communicate clearly with guests, coworkers, and management.
