Our Client, a Global Investment Bank, is seeking an Operations Consultant in their New York, NY location.
Summary
Responsible for creating, processing, and verifying Corporate and Interbank FX/MM payments and settlements through internal transaction processing systems and Broadridge applications. This role also provides support in resolving system or transaction issues in partnership with counterparts, traders, and other business units.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
1. General Duties
- Ensure all FX and MM Corporate/Inter-bank trades are processed and approved in Transaction Processing Systems in a timely manner.
- Prepare and verify manual payments (Fed, CHIPS, SWIFT) as needed.
- Enter payments in Broadridge Metro PACS.
- Review critical control reports for manual settlements and processing accuracy.
- Perform end-of-day reconciliations.
- Enter updates into Broadridge Metro FUNDING.
- Execute transaction confirmations via email, SWIFT, and third-party platforms for FX and MM trades.
- Coordinate with the Documentation/Confirmation team to ensure payments are stopped when MT-392 is issued.
- Monitor USD Fed/CHIPS reconciliations.
- Act as liaison with Market Front Office and other internal departments to resolve issues.
- Reconcile brokerage bills and payments.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational issues and escalate as needed.
- Assist team members with daily operational requirements.
- Receive cross-training across FX/MM processing and settlement functions.
- Participate in special projects.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
2. Compliance
- Maintain a basic understanding of applicable banking rules and regulations.
- Direct any questions to the Americas Legal and Compliance Division.
- Attend annual compliance training sessions.
- Review and respond to compliance-related directives and reference materials.
- Adhere to the Bank’s Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in Money Market and Forex Operations or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Microsoft Word.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with corporate clients, Front Office Account Officers, Front Office Traders, and team members across the organization.
