Overview
Peskind Executive Search is representing a confidential, growth-oriented organization seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead day-to-day A/P operations. This individual will oversee invoice processing, vendor management, and team performance while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and continuous process improvement.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who can balance execution with process optimization in a fast-paced, operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Operations
- Oversee daily A/P activities, including invoice processing, payments, and reconciliations
- Manage weekly check runs and electronic payment cycles
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal controls
Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, and mentor A/P staff (1–2 direct reports)
- Assign and review workload to ensure performance standards are met
- Support a collaborative, accountable team environment
Vendor & Process Management
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies
- Oversee vendor records, tax documentation, and 1099 reporting
- Identify inefficiencies, conduct root cause analysis, and implement process improvements
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting across A/P functions
Qualifications
Experience
- 3 years of accounts payable or accounting experience
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
- Manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Esker, JD Edwards or similar)
- Strong understanding of A/P processes, internal controls, and 1099 reporting
Core Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Effective communication across internal teams and external vendors
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Additional Details
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required (or equivalent experience)
- Exposure to GMP, OSHA, and food safety standards is a plus
