Purpose
Perform the safe and efficient transportation of product to customers and timely reporting of shortages, overages, and damages.
Responsibilities
- Ability to effectively communicate with the customer to properly prepare necessary documents to coordinate a residential or organizational move.
- Customer Service; ability to effectively communication by email or phone with the customer to complete necessary documents required to coordinate the move
- Ensure all documentation relating to shipment is properly completed as required
- Interact closely with the moving team in preparation of the customer goods
- Coordinate with the moving team to ensure proper packing, removing and loading of customer’s goods
- Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with the moving team
- General business support function as assigned
- Transport and deliver goods in accordance with the schedule as determined by the Dispatcher when needed
- Unload or load using proper safety precautions
- Comply with all DOT and NEU requirements (Recordkeeping, Pre- and Post-Inspections, HOS, etc.)
- Ensure highest degree of care and safety when operating a company vehicle
- Maintain a clean and organized work area Communicate to Supervisor/Manager any areas of concern
Qualifications
- Under FMCSR, all Drivers must be at least 21 years of age to participate in the transportation of interstate commerce (391.11(b)(1))
- Satisfactory MVR
- Satisfactory compliance with DQF documentation
- Driver’s License Class C
- High School Diploma, equivalency certificate or significant relevant or appropriate working experience
- DOT Medical card or able to pass a DOT physical to obtain a medical card
- Bilingual English/ Japanese; ability to read, write & speak English and Japanese
Organization Relationships
- This position will interact with all levels of employees at the branch, including colleagues, leadership staff, and office personnel.
- Must be able to work with customers, vendors, and outside organizations
Work Environment
- Driving or sitting for long periods of time
- Standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, repetitive use of hands, grasping
- Pulling, pushing, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to traffic, excessive noise in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Use of equipment such as forklift and pallet jacks
