Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee adherence to applicable banking, financial services, and regulatory requirements at the federal, state, and internal policy levels. Support the development and execution of enterprise-wide compliance risk management strategies.
- Lead and develop the compliance function by managing team performance, fostering professional growth, and ensuring operational effectiveness across assigned responsibilities.
- Evaluate proposed products, services, operational changes, and business initiatives to assess regulatory impact, policy alignment, and risk considerations. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external advisors when necessary.
- Advise senior leadership on compliance-related matters and support the creation, implementation, and maintenance of internal policies, controls, and governance procedures.
- Maintain oversight of financial crime compliance programs, including risk assessments, internal controls, sanctions screening processes, monitoring procedures, and related reporting obligations.
- Design and execute compliance monitoring and testing activities, including remediation planning, issue tracking, and cross-functional coordination to support regulatory readiness.
- Prepare and deliver reporting materials for executive leadership and affiliated oversight groups, including summaries of monitoring activities, risk findings, investigations, and recommended corrective actions.
- Manage regulatory review processes, examinations, inquiries, and audit-related activities, ensuring timely coordination of documentation, responses, and follow-up actions.
- Direct reviews and investigations involving potential compliance concerns, regulatory exceptions, or reporting irregularities, ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution procedures are followed.
- Promote awareness of compliance obligations throughout the organization by supporting training initiatives, policy communication, and employee guidance programs.
- Support operational compliance functions related to transaction monitoring, sanctions review workflows, escalation procedures, and regulatory reporting requirements, where applicable.
- Serve as a primary liaison for interactions with supervisory agencies and external reviewers, coordinating examination activities, information requests, meetings, and ongoing regulatory communications.
- Partner with business and operational leaders to strengthen frameworks for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating regulatory and compliance risk across business activities.
