About the Role
Joe Louis Southern Kitchen is hiring a Host/Hostess in Detroit, Michigan. This is a full-time or part-time opportunity for a friendly, dependable hospitality professional who enjoys creating a welcoming first impression and helping keep restaurant service running smoothly.
As a Host/Hostess, you'll welcome guests, manage reservations and waitlists, coordinate seating, answer phones, and work closely with servers and managers to support an efficient dining room.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome every guest with a warm, friendly greeting
- Manage reservations and waitlists while providing accurate wait-time estimates
- Seat guests efficiently to maintain balanced service throughout the restaurant
- Answer incoming calls and assist with reservations and to-go orders
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entrance
- Thank guests as they leave and encourage them to return
- Assist with opening, closing, and daily side work
- Help create a positive and hospitable experience from arrival through departure
What We’re Looking For
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Friendly, welcoming, and professional attitude
- Ability to stay organized in a busy restaurant environment
- Ability to manage multiple guests, reservations, and requests at once
- Strong teamwork and communication skills

- Willingness to work flexible and weekend shifts
