What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stage Band Director position at Oxford High School?

TITLE: Stage Band Director
SUMMARY: Reporting to the Building Principal, the Stage Band Director is responsible for overseeing a mentoring program for high school students to build the music program in the district.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meets after school Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 2-3pm.
Conducting a pit orchestra when called upon to do so.
Building a jazz band to perform at the winter and spring concerts
Organizing a group to perform at 7 varsity basketball boys/girls home games, including one double header game for "senior night."
Prepare music for pep rallies that occur during the school day before Thanksgiving break as well as winter break.
Participation at graduation is required for members of this group.
Responsible for building and fostering a connection with the middle school to ensure growth in the band program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current member of the Oxford Education Association.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position for extended periods; position oneself to demonstrate technique; move up to 25 lbs. Accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work is generally performed primarily indoors and predominantly in a school classroom.
