Site Reliability Engineer IV (AWS, Dynatrace, Java | Contract | Hybrid in Charlotte, NC)
Optomi, in partnership with a leading financial company, is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join their Deposits Engineering team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and operational excellence of mission-critical banking services hosted on AWS, while supporting the team's transition to a Full Stack engineering model. This role sits at the intersection of traditional SRE practice and modern AI-powered observability, requiring deep hands-on experience with Dynatrace, Terraform, and the AWS ecosystem alongside strong programming skills in Java or Node.js.

Experience of the right candidate:
- 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps roles.
- Strong command of SRE principles including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and toil reduction.
- Deep AWS experience across ECS Fargate, Lambda, EventBridge, Route 53, S3, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.
- Hands-on experience with Dynatrace for application performance and infrastructure monitoring.
- Strong programming skills in Java or Node.js with the ability to contribute to full stack development.
- Proven Terraform expertise for infrastructure as code.
- Experience with AWS cost optimization and FinOps practices.
Responsibilities of the right candidate:
- Implement and maintain comprehensive monitoring using Dynatrace, CloudWatch, LogRocket, and X-Ray.
- Own AWS cost optimization for the Deposits application stack in alignment with FinOps practices.
- Automate platform and infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and GitLab pipelines.
- Assist in triage, incident management, and post-mortem processes during production incidents and outages.
- Support the team's ongoing transition to a Full Stack development model including contributing to platform microservices and UI.
- Partner cross-functionally with developers, architects, and product teams to maintain reliability standards across banking products.
