Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Handle various cleaning tasks such as floor care, chemical agent handling, and industrial cleaning using appropriate equipment like vacuums and floor scrubbers.
- Maintain sanitation by properly managing cleaning supplies, adhering to safety data sheets (SDS), and following hotel emergency procedures.
- Assist with public areas by cleaning lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and other common spaces to ensure a pristine environment.
- Support hotel housekeeping management by completing detailed reports, documenting maintenance issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Lift and move heavy items or equipment safely during cleaning tasks, practicing manual handling techniques to prevent injury.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to guest requests and ensuring their comfort throughout their stay.
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or janitorial services with a strong understanding of sanitation and cleanliness standards.
- Skilled in using cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and chemical sprayers while following safety protocols.
- Knowledge of chemical handling procedures and familiarity with safety data sheets (SDS) for safe use of cleaning agents.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks efficiently without compromising safety or quality.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly attitude that enhances guest satisfaction.
- Experience with hotel housekeeping management systems or custodial record keeping is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
