Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the marine service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation.
- Supervise a team of service technicians, mechanics, and support staff to ensure high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
- Perform diagnostics on marine units brought in for service.
- Supervisor all boat, motor and trailer warranty work. Ensure proper documentation is completed so the company can submit claims.
- Develop and implement service procedures that optimize efficiency while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Drive sales through upselling additional services and products to customers while providing transparent estimates and explanations of repairs.
- Ensure accurate service writing and estimating to facilitate smooth billing processes.
- Maintain detailed records of all service activities, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions.
- Cultivate strong relationships with customers by providing expert advice on marine boat maintenance options and solutions tailored to their needs.
- Manage cash handling procedures securely while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Stay current with industry trends in marine diagnostics and mechanical knowledge.
- Promote a positive team environment through coaching, training opportunities, and recognition programs.
- Collaborate with parts suppliers to ensure timely availability of parts for repairs.
Experience
- Able to perform physical duties in outside heat, occasionally lifting 50 pounds.
- Marine technical training or equivalent experience necessary.
- Maintain technical training required for dealership status.
- Strong attending to detail and organizational skills.
- Extensive experience & training in service and rigging of marine craft.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, physically active environment.
