Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the service department team, including service technicians and mechanics, to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality repairs.
- Oversee diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance repairs
- Manage customer interactions from initial intake to final delivery, ensuring clear communication and outstanding service experience.
- Drive sales through upselling additional services and automotive accessories while maintaining integrity and transparency with customers.
- Handle auto estimating and service writing to accurately document repair orders and communicate scope of work effectively.
- Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies; coordinate with vendors for timely procurement.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and dealership policies at all times.
- Maintain cash handling procedures accurately during transactions.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by providing coaching and training to staff on technical skills
Experience
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in marine service management.
- Extensive mechanic experience with expertise in marine diagnostics and repairs across various systems
- Demonstrated success in upselling services while maintaining high customer satisfaction levels.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and service writing processes.
- Strong knowledge of marine repair procedures
- Experience in managing a team of service technicians or mechanics within a busy dealership environment.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with effective sales abilities related to automobile sales and aftermarket products.
