In this role, you will be responsible for removing ceramic shell material from cast metal parts using specialized equipment. We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Casting Cleaning Operator for 2nd shift to join our finishing team. In this role, you will be responsible for removing ceramic shell material from cast metal parts using specialized equipment. Your work is essential to ensuring parts meet quality standards and are ready for the next stage of production.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove ceramic shell material from castings using high-pressure water wash equipment and sanding cabinets
- Follow detailed electronic work instructions to ensure proper cleaning techniques
- Handle castings with care to avoid damage during the cleaning process
- Organize and rack parts while maintaining batch integrity and traceability
- Perform visual inspections and report any defects or cleaning issues to supervision
- Transfer cleaned castings to the next stage of production
- Perform minor equipment maintenance, including replacing viewing windows
- Accurately complete production records, logs, and data entry in company systems
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in required trainings (LOTO, hazardous materials, lifting techniques)
- Support sample and pre-production runs by helping establish effective cleaning methods
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous manufacturing or foundry experience is a plus, but not required
- Basic computer skills for data entry and production tracking
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow written and electronic work instructions
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and handling parts
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
- Foundry environment with temperature fluctuations
- Frequent exposure to water, damp, and wet conditions
- Use of high-pressure water equipment and required personal protective equipment (PPE)
