Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Stepdown care to join our dynamic healthcare team. Unit: Surgical Stepdown
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: 36 or 48 hrs/week (must specify) every other weekend
Duration: 13 weeks
Openings: 4–5 positions

Role Overview
RN in a Surgical Stepdown unit caring for high-acuity post-op, trauma, and medical patients requiring close monitoring but not ICU level care.
Patient Population
- Post-op surgical patients (including complications)
- Trauma patients
- High-acuity medical patients
- Common needs: cardiac drips, BiPAP, close monitoring
Key Responsibilities
- Full nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation
- Manage cardiac gtts, BiPAP, post-op care
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams
- Monitor patient status and respond to changes
- Maintain documentation and patient safety standards
- Float to same or lower acuity units as needed
Requirements
- Licensure: Missouri RN license (or eligible)
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years Stepdown or ICU
- Skills Required:
- Post-op care
- Cardiac drips
- BiPAP
- Strong time management & critical thinking
Certifications
- BLS (AHA required)
- ACLS (AHA required)

- Beds: 29
- Ratios: 1:3–4
- EMR: Epic

- No call required
- Flu vaccine (or approved exemption) required (Nov–Apr)
- Local travelers paid lower rate

Pay: $1,882.00 - $1,990.00 per week
