Forklift Operator - Field Distribution

Job Title: Forklift Operator - Field Distribution Location: Bolingbrook, IL, United States, 60440 Job Type: Temp to Engage Shift Timings: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (OT as needed) Pay Rate: $19.50 / hr Summary This is not a 100% sit-on lift all-day role; it is a combination of labor and lifting. Picking/packing orders includes bending, lifting, wrapping pallets, pulling, or pushing equipment. RF scanner experience and good math skills are needed. A few chosen people load and unload trailers. Looking for team players who want to become permanent and have a good work ethic and attendance. Ricoh will train on all forklifts (Sit down or Stand-up). Must have at least 6 months of forklift experience. Responsibilities Responsible for the efficient and safe operation of all powered and non-powered material handling equipment. Perform all warehouse functions including shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment. Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures. Utilize RF equipment to process all inbound (Receiving), outbound (Shipping), and internal orders accurately. Ensure all transactions are accurate in item and quantity. Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy by conducting Quality Assurance inspections. Provide backup support within other departments as cross-trained. Perform stock consolidation to improve inventory efficiency and maximize warehouse space. Maintain company 5S standards in assigned work areas. Meet productivity and quality standards as defined by department manager. Inspect and QA outbound freight to ensure correct items, quantities, and packaging integrity. Palletize and load shipments to prevent damage during transit. Load product onto LTL, TL trailers, and vans. Inspect inbound freight for quantity and damage; complete documentation including carriers BOL as per Standard Work Instructions. Complete forklift inspection checklist daily and report needed repairs. Perform C-TPAT compliance inspections for inbound and outbound international shipments. Maintain operational and warehouse security per C-TPAT policy. Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Previous forklift certification (Reach, Dock stocker, or Sit-down forklift). RF scanner experience. Excellent math and reading comprehension skills; ability to write legibly. Minimum two years warehouse experience with one year of stand-up forklift experience. Physically able to perform tasks involving walking, standing, bending, reaching, and safely lifting up to 50 lbs (team lift for items over 50 lbs). Ability to take direction and complete assignments within established timelines. Team player with ability to interact with co-workers. High attention to detail to promote a safe work environment and prevent property damage or injury. Ability to multi-task in a warehouse environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and normal temperature/noise levels.
