What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Forklift Operator - 2nd Shift - Channahon, IL position at NOVO DISTRIBUTION LLC?
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator/Loader experienced in loading heavy loads onto flatbed trailers. The ideal candidate should have strong forklift operation skills and a focus on safety. If you have a proven track record in this area, we encourage you to apply.
This position is for our SECOND Shift at our Channahon, IL warehouse.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2 pm – 10:30 pm
Pay: $20.50/hr.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operates a forklift to move products and pallets throughout the warehouse to an area safely.
- Communicate any discrepancies, product issues, or safety issues with the Supervisor.
- Ensures that product is moved and scanned using a radio frequency scanner to the correct location and confirms product labels are accurate.
- Maintains a clean and safe area free and clear of any debris.
- Anticipates the needs of the business, keeping like products together and accessible.
- Successfully passes all Novo forklift training and operates a forklift following all safety requirements established within Novo.
- May place standup items into designated areas by hand as required.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
- Effectively perform all essential functions, including physical requirements
- Ability to move awkward product lengths and weight.
- Experience with operating a forklift with a rate rating of 6,500 pounds.
- Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company-approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills
- Ability to read, understand, and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Flexibility in scheduling – able to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating a forklift primarily with product weights of 2500 lbs. or more.
- Prior experience lifting wide loads as long as 18 feet.
- Minimum one year of experience operating a forklift.
- High School Diploma or GED

- 80%: Reaching with hands and arms, depth perception.

- 10%: Working bent at waist, stoop, kneel, crouch, bending or twisting.
- Lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Lift, push or pull 75-100 lbs. with assistance
